View Waterland from above
Rembrandt van Rijn has sketched the tower of Ransdorp several times. The large tower is a design by Jan Poyt and dates from the early sixteenth century. This tower recalls the flourishing shipping and trade that the village knew, especially in the fifteenth century. On the roof of the tower you have a beautiful panoramic view of Waterland, a typical Dutch polder landscape.
